Admissions Procedure
Criteria for admissions to The Windward School are the following:

- Written diagnosis of a language-based learning disability
- Average to superior intellectual potential
- No behavioral or emotional problems that would interfere with the instructional program
Step 1. Start your application.
Step 2. Upload the following forms via Veracross to the admissions office:
- A complete psychoeducational evaluation including a WISC-V with at least ten primary subtests to support the five domains administered within two years of applying (scaled scores required)
- Recent school reports (from parents’ files or current school)
- $75 non-refundable fee for processing the application to be paid directly on Veracross after your complete your application
Step 3. After the application file is submitted with all the above information, the Admissions Committee will review it.
Step 4. Some applicants will be invited to visit the School to attend classes and meet with a learning specialist. There is a $300 screening fee.
- Please plan for a full morning, 8:30am – 11:30am, visit to Windward, which will include the student screening and classroom visit.
- Screenings assess students' reading, spelling, and writing skills to determine placement in an appropriate instructional group.
Step 5. The Admissions Committee will review the data within two weeks of the screening.
Step 6. Findings and recommendations are discussed at a parent/guardian conference.
