The Windward Manhattan campus is a state-of-the-art facility designed to carry on the School’s tradition of providing an outstanding education to students with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. The New York City campus opened in 2015 with approximately 100 students in grades three, four, five and six. The 2016-2017 school year included the addition of second and seventh grades. Eighth grade will be added in the third year, and a total of 350 children in grades one through eight will be taught on the Manhattan campus by the sixth year of operation. The academic curriculum at the Manhattan campus will mirror the Windward programs currently being used at the Westchester Lower School and Westchester Middle School campuses. All faculty members will receive the same expert instruction and training from the Windward Teacher Training Institute, which will have a facility in the Manhattan building as an annex to the main location in the Judith C. Hochman Building.
