Alex Frelinghuysen, MA Ed

Mrs. Frelinghuysen began teaching at The Windward School in 2012. She started her career as an assistant teacher in social studies and language arts classes. Thanks to the mentorship of numerous master teachers, Mrs. Frelinghuysen is now in her eighth year at The Windward School.  She currently teaches seventh and eighth grade language arts classes. She has presented direct instruction and lesson planning strategies to new Windward teachers at their weekly meetings and the Summer Intensive Program. Additionally, Mrs. Frelinghuysen teaches a writing course at The Windward School’s Summer School Program. She is on the faculty of Windward Teacher Training Institute, presenting the Syllables are Key workshop. 

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Skidmore College, she completed her Master of Arts degree in Secondary English Education at Teachers College.
