Reading comprehension is a complex, active process that can be widely misunderstood. The term ‘reading comprehension’ does not pertain to a single skill but instead requires students to apply content and context knowledge, vocabulary, and a comprehensive set of skills. This workshop explains reading comprehension through a research-based, integrated approach and outlines instructional implications and strategies for the classroom.
