Language skills are the foundation for academic and social success and can be strengthened across grade levels and content areas. Language-rich lessons and explicit practices promote receptive and expressive language in every educational setting and are essential for children with language and reading difficulties. Understanding the ways in which the domains of language and the progression of language development support learning are key to making instructional language constructive, efficient, and powerful.
