Did you know that babies start laying the foundation for learning to read the moment they are born? The sounds that they hear, and store are converted into the letters they decode and use to spell. Much sooner than you know it, they can begin to demonstrate their knowledge of sounds and all the fun and essential skills for manipulating them. This knowledge is the next level of learning to read.

In this workshop, Lydia H. Soifer, PhD, will identify the phonological awareness skills essential for reading and present a variety of materials and techniques that can be used to build and solidify these abilities in young children. For teachers of grades Pre-K-2
