Language influences every aspect of the curriculum, affecting the way children learn and teachers teach. This four-day course, taught by Lydia H. Soifer, PhD, will focus on the role language plays in learning, including decoding and comprehension, vocabulary and concept knowledge, thinking and reasoning, narrative development, writing and social skills. Participants will learn techniques and strategies for enhancing language learning in the classroom. Group activities and mini-case studies will be used to reinforce essential concepts.
For teachers of grades K–8
This course is offered for one graduate credit. There are additional hours, assignments, and fees.
