Why this workshop:
In order to build community and success for all students, it is critical to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of the curriculum, instruction, and school life. Research shows a strong correlation between a student’s sense of belonging and level of classroom engagement. By intentionally and thoughtfully integrating DEI in the classroom, students learn to honor and respect differences while growing intellectually, socially, and emotionally.

- Evaluate instructional materials to ensure comprehensiveness and inclusivity
- Select varied resources to build sufficient background knowledge
- Create guidelines and routines for classroom discourse that lead to productive and equitable conversations
