How to Autosave Password in Chrome on Desktop?

Per Google:

If you enter a new password on a site, Chrome will ask to save it. To accept, click Save.

  • To see the password that will be saved, click Preview Preview.
  • If there are multiple passwords on the page, click the Down arrow Down Arrow. Choose the password you want saved.
  • If your username is blank or incorrect, click the text box next to "Username." Enter the username you want saved.
  • If you want to save a different password, click the text box next to "Password." Enter the password you want saved.

Sign in with a saved password

If you saved your password on a previous visit to a website, Chrome can help you sign in.

  1. On your computer, go to a site you've visited before.
  2. Go to the site’s sign-in form.
    • If you’ve saved a single username and password for the site: Chrome will fill in the sign-in form automatically.
    • If you’ve saved more than one username and password: Select the username field and choose the sign-in info you want to use.

See, delete, or export saved passwords

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile Profile and then Passwords.
  3. See, delete, or export a password:
    • See: To the right of the website, click Show password Preview. If you lock your computer with a password, you'll be prompted to enter your computer password.
    • Remove: To the right of the website, click More More and then Remove.
    • Export: To the right of "Saved Passwords," click More More and then Export passwords.

To clear all your saved passwords, clear browsing data and select "Passwords."

Start or stop saving passwords

By default, Chrome offers to save your password. You can turn this option off or on at any time.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile Profile and then Passwords.
  3. Turn Offer to save passwords on or off.

Fix problems with passwords

If Chrome isn't saving or offering to save passwords, learn how to fix issues with saved info.

How Chrome saves and syncs passwords

How Chrome saves your passwords depends on whether you want to store and use them across devices. When synced, passwords can be used on Chrome on all your devices, and across some apps on your Android devices.

When sync is turned on for passwords in Chrome, your passwords are saved to your Google Account.

Otherwise, your passwords are only stored on Chrome on your computer.

    • If Chrome doesn't offer your saved password: Tap password Key to see possible passwords.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More.
  3. Tap Settings and then Passwords.
  4. See, delete, or export a password:
    • See: Tap View and manage saved passwords at passwords.google.com.
    • Delete: Tap the password you want to remove. At the top, tap Delete Trash.
    • Export: Tap MoreMore and then Export Passwords.

To clear all your saved passwords, clear browsing data and select "Passwords."

  2. Go to a site you've visited before.
  3. Go to the site’s sign-in form.
    • If you’ve saved a single username and password for the site: Chrome will fill in the sign-in form automatically.
    • If you’ve saved more than one username and password: Select the username field and choose the sign-in info you want to use.

If Chrome doesn’t suggest a password, above the keyboard tap key Key and then Use other password.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the bottom right, tap More More.
  3. Tap Settings Settings and then Passwords
  4. See, delete, or export a password:
    • See: Tap the saved password. Under "Password," tap Show.
    • Delete: At the top right, tap Edit. Under "Saved Passwords," tap the site you want to remove and then Delete.
    • Export: Scroll down to the bottom, and then tap Export Passwords.

To clear all your saved passwords, clear browsing data and select "Saved passwords."

How Chrome saves and syncs passwords

Your passwords are saved to your Google Account if you're signed in to Chrome and are syncing passwords.

Otherwise, your passwords are only stored on Chrome on your iPhone or iPad.

How to Enable Safari to Save Passwords for Websites in OS?

  • Open Settings app on your iOS device
  • Scroll down and tap on Passwords & Accounts
  • Ensure that the switch next to AutoFill Passwords is turned ON, if it's not already.

Note: In iOS 11, you need to go to Settings > Safari > AutoFill > Turn on the switch next to Names and Passwords.

From now onwards, when you visit any site and log in, Safari will ask you to save the passwords.

How to Add myWindward to Your Phone's Main Screen?

For Android:

  • Launch Chrome for Android and open myWindward portal
  • Tap the menu button and tap "Add to homescreen"
  • You'll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your homescreen

For iPhone & iPad

  • Launch the Safari browser on Apple's iOS and open myWindward portal
  • Tap the Share button on the browser's toolbar - the square with an arrow pointing upward through it (on an iPhone, it's on the bar at the bottom of the screen)
  • Tap the Add to Home Screen icon in the Share menu

How to Download Calendar to My Device?

Tap this icon to download dates to your calendar. You will see it whenever you see a calendar.

To ensure you download all the correct dates, visit your student's divisional home page in myWindward (MLS, MMS, WLS, WMS) and tap on the icon. For example, if your student is at Manhattan Lower School (MLS), you would see the following feeds to download. Please download All Public Calendars on your division's page.

Please note: Dates are always subject to change without notification; however, if a date does change, we will make it available on the calendar. It will not update your previously downloaded calendar feed. Please make sure to read the We-Blast for calendar date changes.

How to Retrieve your myWindward Username or Password?

At the main myWindward login page at https://portal.thewindwardschool.org, select "Forgot Username or Password" and enter the credentials it requires. It will email your information to you or ask you to reset your password. Please follow the instructions it gives you. Please check your SPAM or junk folder in your email.
