New for the 2021-2022 school year, the Stonewall Protests of 1969 were added as a topic that eighth- and ninth-grade students could select for their fourth-quarter research project for their study skills class. A hallmark of the Windward program, the study skills class teaches students about the multi-step process to craft a persuasive essay.
Throughout the month of June, Windward acknowledged Pride Month, and the School engaged in deeper learning about the history of the LGBTQ+ community.
The month of May is also known as Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and the language arts department organized a thematic read aloud series for students that highlighted AAPI voices and stories.
On Saturday, April 30, The Windward School hosted the Bi-Annual Spring Benefit at Cipriani 42nd Street.
