Free Reading Screening Assessment

Why Screen for Reading Difficulties in Early Grades?

The ability to read is one of the most important predictors of academic success.

Reading challenges can be identified before a child learns to read.

Early identification & intervention reduces negative consequences of being unable to read.

To benefit from intervention, children need to be identified as early as possible.

Registration is now open for our fall reading clinics.

Fall clinic dates are as follows:

For current second graders: September 13, 14, 15. Time slots available for these dates are 7:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., and 8:30 a.m.

Did you know future struggling readers and students with dyslexia can be identified before they begin to read?

This free, virtual screening is informal, and its purpose is to determine your student’s risk for reading difficulty and any need for intervention.

The screening takes approximately 20 minutes. Once the screening is completed and evaluated, The Windward School will contact you and provide resources based on the screening results.
