Why Screen for Reading Difficulties in Early Grades?

The ability to read is one of the most important predictors of academic success.

Reading challenges can be identified before a child learns to read.

Early identification and intervention reduce negative consequences of being unable to read.

To benefit from intervention, children need to be identified as early as possible.

Fill out the form below for information about registering for a screening.

This free, virtual screening is informal, and its purpose is to determine your student’s risk for reading difficulty and any need for intervention. The screening takes approximately 30 minutes. Once the screening is completed and evaluated, The Windward School will contact you and provide resources based on the screening results.
