New Assistant Division Head of Manhattan Lower School Announcement

Dear Windward Families and Community Members,

I am pleased to inform you that Ms. Lori Squillante will be the next assistant division head of The Windward School’s Manhattan Lower School. Ms. Squillante will be leaving her current position as the Westchester Lower School coordinator of math and diversity advisor to assume this position as of July 1, 2019.

Ms. Squillante received her BA from NYU in psychology and women’s studies and her MS in Elementary Childhood Education and Childhood Special Education from the College of New Rochelle. Ms. Squillante joined The Windward School in 2001 at the Westchester Lower School, and she has successfully assumed numerous roles during her tenure as a classroom teacher, team leader, coordinator of math, admissions screener, interim assistant division head, and diversity advisor.

As part of her application, Ms. Squillante wrote about her experience as the interim assistant division head at the Westchester Lower School and stated, “Whether developing coverage plans, talking with a parent/guardian about a concern or working with faculty and staff members to resolve an unexpected situation quickly and efficiently, I drew upon the experience I acquired at Windward to achieve successful outcomes.” In her leadership, Ms. Squillante also draws upon her experience of The Windward School as an alumni parent.  She comes into the assistant division head role with an extraordinary breadth of experience, and we are confident that Manhattan Lower School students, families, faculty, and staff will benefit from her support.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Squillante.

Sincerely,

John J. Russell, EdD                           Leslie Zuckerwise
