The Windward School Announces Beth DeMarte as Director of Marketing & Communications

After an intensive search, The Windward School is pleased to announce the appointment of Beth DeMarte as the new Director of Marketing & Communications. Ms. DeMarte will join Windward's senior leadership team effective November 15, 2021.

With deep marketing and communications expertise in the nonprofit and corporate sectors, Ms. DeMarte’s work will focus on strategic initiatives and school-wide campaigns that advance Windward’s mission, reputation, engagement, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. As a mission-driven marketer and brand-builder, Ms. DeMarte will leverage her experience to support Windward’s advancement and fundraising, community connectivity and diversification, enrollment, The Windward Institute, and transformative programming for students and faculty. 

Ms. DeMarte comes to Windward from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, where she architected and led all aspects of marketing and communications in support of their overarching mission. Her support was also critical for their Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Thrive by 25 Initiative, and Fund for Women & Girls. Previously, she was the vice president of global marketing and communications for an international travel organization. Throughout her career, she has cultivated a unique ability to merge creativity and project management expertise to help organizations increase impact, action, and customer experience. Ms. DeMarte’s award-winning business-to-business and business-to-consumer initiatives have driven record-setting fundraising and events, successful programmatic and promotional campaigns, and digital strategies to solve challenges. 

“Motivated by Windward’s vision that difference is power, I am professionally and personally enthusiastic about empowering youth and educators with tools to help them thrive,” shared Ms. DeMarte. “My own trajectory was built upon education as a life-changing foundation, and I sense there is a wonderful alignment between Windward’s mission and my passion, both of which are grounded in a commitment to educational equity and access. I'm thrilled to be joining the team that is shaping Windward’s evolutionary future.” 

Ms. DeMarte graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in marketing and a minor in American literature. Born and raised in Westchester County, NY, she has also lived in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Ms. DeMarte currently resides in Fairfield County, CT, with her partner Anthony. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, photography, movies, and being anywhere there is sand and surf.
