Annual MMS/WMS Grades 8-9 Overnight Trip to Washington, DC

Every year in early June, the eighth-grade and ninth-grade students from both Manhattan Middle School and Westchester Middle School join together for an overnight trip to visit various sites in the nation’s capital. This year, the students and accompanying faculty toured the Newseum and witnessed the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery before stopping at a few of the iconic landmarks of DC, such as the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

Following a day of historical tours, the Windward students had the next day to socialize and celebrate the end of the school year at the amusement park, Dorney Park. The Manhattan Middle School eighth graders and the Westchester Middle School eighth and ninth graders enjoyed their final opportunity to connect with each other before graduation.
