MLS/WLS Virtual Author Visit

Thanks to the generosity of the Windward Parents Association, award-winning author, Mac Barnett, will virtually visit grades 1-4 students on Tuesday, February 23.  During his presentation, he will focus on the writing process and describe what inspired him to become an author.

Mac Barnett is a New York Times-bestselling author of stories for children, including Easy Readers, Picture Books, and Chapter Books. His works have been translated into more than 30 languages and have sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. Mac’s books have won multiple prizes, including two Caldecott Honors, three New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Awards, three E.B. White Read Aloud Awards, and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award. Mac lives with his family in Oakland, California.

To prepare for his visit, time will be spent in library classes introducing students to multiple titles that Mr. Barnett has written.

Books containing an autographed bookplate can be ordered here: and will be delivered to in person students and mailed to remote students.

We are grateful to the Windward Parents Association for their continued support and for funding this enriching experience.
